The funds for replenishing existing weapons stockpiles in the United States are also almost depleted. Only $1.6 billion of the original $26 billion remains for this purpose. The United States has not yet used up all the money that has been appropriated for Ukraine. However, individual pots such as the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative are already empty. This finances the purchase of newly manufactured weapons and the training of Ukrainian soldiers, for instance. The lack of funding for the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative program will further affect the maintenance of weapons systems that have already been delivered, as well as the supply of spare parts.
