Cuba has however been an ally of North Korea since 1960 , Cuba recognized South Korea in 1949 but severed ties with Seoul when Fidel Castro’s communist regime came to power in 1959 and established diplomatic ties with North Korea the following year .But the climate changed in the early 2000s as economic and cultural exchanges between South Korea and Cuba increased and Castro died in 2008. and now South Korea is seeking diplomatic relations with Cuba. Will the new ties threaten North Korean-Cuban ties ?
