Ukraine has agreed to the US proposal to end the war with Russia with only “minor details” outstanding, a US official said, but Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said more work needed to be done. The country’s national security chief said they were looking forward to organizing a visit to the US by Zelensky this month to “complete final steps.”Russia though could reject an amended US peace plan if its terms are “fundamentally different” to the understanding reached during the US-Russia summit in Alaska, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.
