In 2022 , WhatsApp positioned itself as a popular messenger service in the United Kingdom , with many businesses turning to the platform. But these vows do not comply with the Government’s Online Safety Bill that gives Ofcom the power to impose requirements for social networks to use technology to tackle terrorism or child sexual abuse content.
