any human activity that significantly damages the environment by intentionally putting the health of ecosystems and the species that form them at risk of serious harm is called ecocide. In June 2021 a team of international lawyers unveiled a new legal definition of ecocide and they are pressuring the International Criminal Court (ICC) to establish ecocide as a international crime on par with war crimes, genocide and crimes against humanity. Should ecocide be added to the international crimes the ICC can prosecute?
