Gas demand in Germany’s automotive industry is relatively modest, however. That’s especially true when compared to the chemical, steel, glass and paper industries that, together with aluminum producers, are the largest industrial gas consumers in Germany. Rising gas prices or renewed calls to save energy any way possible. But how are German companies that are highly dependent on the fossil fuel preparing for a looming shortage and will the country manage to cut its consumption without going to recesion?
