The lack of supply was hit due to the absence of standardised arms and ammunition. Nato countries primarily use 155 mm shells but each country produces them with slight differences. Europe promised Ukraine one million rounds of ammunition but eight months later, the EU has delivered less than one-third of its commitment. There are 14 variations of these artillery shells.
