Meta to unveil new Smart Glasses

Meta is set to launch a new line of smart wearables at its annual Connect conference, including the company’s first pair of display-equipped smart glasses and a wristband that lets users control the device through hand movements. While Hypernova will include a colour display, its features will be limited, people familiar with the project said. With a field of view of roughly 20 degrees, the display will appear as a small, fixed window, mainly relaying basic information such as text notifications. However, the wristband has faced challenges in testing, including accuracy issues when worn loosely, performance differences between men and women, and problems when used with long sleeves. Developers have recently been invited to begin testing both Hypernova and the wristband. Meta is also encouraging third-party developers, particularly those working with generative AI, to create apps for its wearable ecosystem. Is the “Smart” everything someting of concern ?
