Two Iranian immigrants have been accused of spying on the Israeli embassy and Britain’s oldest synagogue, a court has heard. Nematollah Shahsavani, 40, and Alireza Farasati, 22, allegedly assisted Iran’s intelligence service between July 9 and Aug 15 last year. Louise Attrill, prosecuting, told Westminster magistrates’ court that they were suspected of helping the agency “by conducting hostile surveillance of locations and individuals linked to the Israeli and Jewish community”. Alleged targets for surveillance included the Israeli embassy and consulate in London, a Jewish community centre in the capital’s north and the Bevis Marks Synagogue in Aldgate, the court heard. A woman living in Britain and accused of being a Mossad agent was also allegedly targeted. Do you think that the spies are all over and it is hard to tell ?
