In what is possibly the first documented instance of terrorists allegedly using ChatGPT to cause mass casualties, the National Investigation Agency has, in its chargesheet in the Red Fort vehicle-borne IED blast case, revealed how artificial intelligence platforms name ChatGPT, online videos and easily available commercial materials were allegedly used by members of a terror module to build rockets, explosive devices and drone-based attack systems. The chargesheet also details how the group allegedly tested rockets and Cylinder IEDs in forests across Kashmir, modified drones for carrying explosives, and procured electronic trigger mechanisms online before the deadly Red Fort blast that killed 11 people and injured several others.
