AI can track your location from photos even without GPS

With the advancement of powerful AI tools, we have made them a part of our lives. Social media users must be careful about the photos they share online. A McAfee report has found that AI models can identify where an image was clicked even when the photo does not contain GPS information, location tags or captions. These findings raise fresh concerns about digital privacy, especially as people often share vacation photos, reels and everyday moments on platforms such as X, Facebook and Instagram. The study warns that AI was able to determine the city and country where a travel photo was clicked with a high level of accuracy. McAfee tested two open-weight AI models, Google’s Gemma 3 27B and Alibaba’s Qwen3 VL 30B.  Do you think that data privacy will be a matter of the past ?
