In some good news for WhatsApp users, the Meta-owned instant messaging platform is reportedly working on new feature that could make it easier to call people who do not use the messaging app. The platform is testing guest calls, which will allow people without a WhatsApp account to join a call using a web link. The feature is currently under development and is expected to arrive in a future update. Even WhatsApp beta users cannot test it at the moment. This approval will be compulsory for people who do not have a WhatsApp account. WhatsApp is expected to use technology similar to its existing guest chat feature to secure these calls. When a guest opens the link, WhatsApp Web will create a unique identifier for that browser session. Will this cause a security issue ?
