Amazon to close its Amazon Appstore android users

Amazon’s Appstore will permanently close for Android users on August 20, essentially marking the end of the retail giant’s competition with Google ‘s Play Store. The Appstore offers apps, games, and a digital currency called Amazon Coins that customers use to make purchases and in-app transactions. Amazon originally announced its decision to close the Appstore on Android phones in February, giving users about six months to spend their remaining coins before the shutdown. The company noted that any money still in an Appstore account once the service goes dark will be returned, but Amazon did not give any specifics on when those refunds will be sent out. ‘Any Coins you have purchased that remain in your account after August 20, 2025 will be refunded.
