Australian university hacked with students

Thousands of former and current students of Western Sydney University have been victims of data breaches which saw serious personal details leaked to the dark web. After an investigation, the third-party provider was ordered to shut down access to its platform, the university confirmed in a statement. It confirmed there was unauthorised access to the system through a further external system linked to that platform between June 19 and September 3.The perpetrators also found details about identity (names, birthdays, university ID), ethnicity, employment and payroll, drivers’ licences, legal, health and disability information, complaint or case information, and data on country of birth, nationality, citizenship and gender or identity information.
