Carbon-dioxide concentration in the atmosphere

In 1961 Charles Keeling, a scientist at Mauna Loa, noticed that these yearly plant-driven fluctuations were riding on top of a more sinister secular rise in co2 caused by humans. Every May since 1965, concentrations of the planet-warming gas have reached new heights but Since 1958 scientists at the station have been measuring the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Their initial goal was to track how levels of the gas vary across the seasons, driven by the growth cycle of plants which absorb more co2 in the summer and release more of it in the winter. How do we reduce carbon dioxide concentrations as we improve the living standards of humans?
