Google is making it easier to get specific Gemini tasks done on Workspace apps. It is making Gems available directly in the side panel of Google Docs, Drive, Gmail, Sheets, and Slides. Gems have been available on the Gemini app and website since last year. They are custom versions of Gemini that you can create to act as experts on specific tasks. The feature began rolling out on July 2, but it might take more than two weeks for it to hit your account. It’s available for Google Workspace customers who have access to Gemini in the side panel and Gems in the Gemini app, which means you need to be on a Standard Workspace plan or better to use the feature.
