As a result of this technological shift independent media has been facilitated and surged in popularity, but misinformation is at an all time high and trust in traditional media sources is at an all time low. The Internet is revolutionising the media as we know it, with social media and mobile smart tech is changing the way we communicate both as individuals and as a society. This transition seems to already be influencing political processes around the world helping to facilitate not only modern civil rights movements but also seemingly deranged conspiracy theory movements.
