DR Congo to “kick out” UN

The Democratic Republic of Congo has asked the spokesman of the UN peacekeeping mission to leave the country as soon as possible. The Congolese government considers that the presence of this official on the national territory is not likely to promote a climate of mutual trust and serenity so essential between the Congolese institutions and MONUSCO. Meanwhile, the DRC’s government also announced this week that it would reassess the mission’s withdrawal plan. The mission, that’s been deployed for over two decades, is due to withdraw by 2024, but DRC’s foreign affairs minister said the government plans to speed up the departure. Do you think that the UN mission forces are serving the west ?
