“Failed” US pressure on China

Japan, at the time of the Plaza Accord, was heavily dependent on the US market and had weak domestic demand. China, in stark contrast, boasts a robust domestic market and has successfully diversified its export destinations. This economic resilience, coupled with adaptability, has allowed China to weather the storm of US economic pressure. As Western nations attempt to ‘decouple’ from China  severing economic ties and reducing dependence on Chinese supply chains Zheng posits that the US will eventually have to revisit its strategy. There is  need for the US to reassess its approach to China, given that traditional economic pressure seems ineffective. It also highlights the interdependence between the two nations, casting a shadow over the possibility of a total decoupling. Do you think that US has failed to bring China down ?
