Just like the global pandemic that hit the world from 2020, 2020 saw the start of a massive semiconductor shortage that has lasted into 2021. Supply of semiconductors and related appliances have massive reduced as demand has skyrocketed reaching crisis proportions. Hundreds of industries dealing with electrical devices have been hindered by the unavailability of semiconductors as order backlogs and waiting lists look set to continue well into the future. Semiconductor supply chains are overwhelmingly complex but one company sits on the top of what is one of the most heavily consolidated industries in the world and that company is Taiwan’s Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co Ltd.
