Google to Run on Green Energy

Google envisions its latest campus as the embodiment of a grander ambition to run its operations entirely free of carbon. Google’s data centers, which house the servers that power billions of web searches, emails, and mapping routes every day, account for most of its electricity consumption: 15.1 million megawatt-hours in 2020. Last year, Google met 67% of its data center electricity needs with renewable sources on an hourly basis, a 6% jump from the prior year. Last year, Pichai-chief executive officer of Google and its parent Alphabet Inc., announced Google’s plan to run every office and data center on electricity from clean sources, around the clock. He set 2030 as the deadline. Do you think that other big technology companies should emulate what google is doing ?
