Indians AI influence at global stage

Indians and people of Indian origin are making a strong mark on the global artificial intelligence landscape, with 10 names featuring in TIME’s 2026 list of the 100 most influential people in AI. The latest TIME100 AI list brings together founders, technology executives, researchers, healthcare innovators and policymakers whose work is influencing how AI is developed, deployed and regulated. The honourees are divided into four categories: Leaders, Innovators, Shapers and Thinkers. Among those featured are Sarvam AI co-founder Vivek Raghavan, Adalat AI co-founder Utkarsh Saxena, IBM Chairman and CEO Arvind Krishna, Micron Technology CEO Sanjay Mehrotra and Caltech professor Anima Anandkumar.The group reflects the expanding role of Indian and Indian-origin talent across the AI value chain, ranging from foundational models and computing infrastructure to healthcare, legal technology and AI governance.
