Instagram adds ‘Instants’ feature for sharing unedited photos in DMs

Instagram has introduced a new feature called Instants, allowing users to share unedited, real-time photos directly with friends and followers. Unlike Stories or posts, the feature focuses on raw, unfiltered moments without edits, filters, or curated aesthetics.The Instants feature is integrated into the platform’s direct messages (DMs), appearing in the bottom corner of the inbox. It is designed for situations where users may want to quickly share a photo privately without permanently saving it in a chat thread.Unlike Instagram Stories, users are prompted to write a caption first before capturing a photo.
