Facebook and Instagram users across several countries reported problems accessing the platforms on Sunday, with complaints ranging from login failures and unavailable accounts to feeds not loading and posts, Stories and Reels failing to upload. The disruption appeared to affect both Meta platforms across web and app experiences. Users also took to X to report the issue, with some initially fearing that their accounts had been suspended after seeing error messages such as “Account Temporarily Unavailable” on Facebook. The outage reports were not limited to a single region. Downdetector data showed a sharp increase in complaints, while checks by Reuters found intermittent access to Facebook and Instagram in Singapore.
