Kurdish forces to come the control of Syrian Interim Government

The ethnic Kurdish forces had effectively controlled the northeastern part of Syria during its civil war. But they are in a hostile relationship with neighboring Turkey, and have continued fighting Turkish-backed forces even after the collapse of the Assad regime. Syria’s interim government says Kurdish forces in the country’s northeast have agreed to come under government control. The government says the agreement came in talks Monday between interim President Ahmed al-Sharaa and the Kurdish forces commander. In northwestern Syria, armed clashes between the interim government forces and fighters supporting Assad have continued since last Thursday.
