Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam bans Hezbollah’s military activities

Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam on Monday said his government had decided to impose a ban on all Hezbollah’s military activities, a step that comes during a renewed exchange of fire between Israel and the Iran-backed militia. Salam in a statement to Lebanese TV and also posted on social media said his government was calling on authorities to implement an “immediate prohibition of all of Hezbollah’s security and military activities,” adding that the militant group was obligated to hand in its weapons to the state.
