Meta Platforms has acquired Assured Robot Intelligence (ARI), a startup working on humanoid robots powered by artificial intelligence. The deal, confirmed by the company, brings ARI’s team into Meta’s Superintelligence Labs and Robotics Studio, strengthening its efforts in whole‑body humanoid control and self‑learning systems.The acquisition comes as Meta increases its capital expenditure for 2026 to USD 125–145 billion, citing higher component costs and expanded data centre investments.The move places Meta in direct competition with Tesla, Amazon, and Google, all of which are investing heavily in humanoid robotics.
