Microsoft said that its 365 subscription service is experiencing technical difficulties after users reported outages. The disruption was caused by a faulty software update for CrowdStrike’s cybersecurity software Falcon, which is run on some Microsoft Windows devices. Users were encountering the infamous “blue screen of death” when attempting to access Microsoft devices running on Windows. Over 22,000 users reported having issues with Microsoft 365, and an additional 4,300 reported problems with Teams, according to Downdector, a platform that tracks outages by collecting status reports.
