Microsoft finally makes Windows Update optional

Microsoft is updating its Windows 11 update system after user feedback highlighted concerns around forced restarts and limited control. The company is introducing changes that allow users to delay updates for longer periods and manage restarts more independently. The move addresses two common complaints: unexpected interruptions and lack of control over update timing. Microsoft says the update aims to improve user flexibility while maintaining system security.Microsoft is also introducing a calendar-based interface. Users can now choose a specific date within the 35-day window, making it easier to plan around travel, work schedules, or exams. Now, Microsoft is separating update actions from standard power controls. Users will continue to see regular “Restart” and “Shut down” options, allowing them to turn off their device without installing updates immediately. Do you think that having optional updates has been the best option for anyone ?
