Microsoft sets new limits for future AI models as frontier AI faces growing scrutiny

Microsoft has established new safety guidelines following the recent discourse around AI, although they have been in the works for about five months, said Mustafa Suleyman. He also added that Microsoft had received a lot of feedback around AI not creating dependence, not being sycophantic, and always promoting human judgment, autonomy, and agency.Anthropic and OpenAI currently lead the way on benchmarking companies on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index. Microsoft, meanwhile, has incorporated models from different labs into its Copilot assistant for corporate workers, even as it builds its own models for transcription, coding, and reasoning.Microsoft has established strong guardrails that prohibit its models from entertaining requests related to weapons manufacturing, assisting with the procurement of dangerous substances, or producing violent or lewd content, according to its code of conduct.
