Microsoft warns that Hackers can use hotel Wi-Fi to steal passwords

Microsoft has warned travellers about a new cyberattack campaign in which hackers are targeting hotel Wi-Fi networks to steal passwords, access accounts and even spy on victims. The campaign, identified as ‘CaptiveCrunch’, is being linked to Storm-2945 — a cybercriminal group. These are the Wi-Fi networks commonly found in hotels, conference centres and other public places where users are asked to sign in or accept terms before getting internet access. The hackers can manipulate DNS and web traffic on compromised networks and redirect users to infrastructure controlled by them.The attackers may make a page appear as if the computer needs a Windows, browser, security or other software update. Users are then encouraged to follow instructions that eventually lead to the installation of malicious software. Do you think that Cellular networks is more safe ?
