The collaborative effort of OpenAI and Apple was initially announced at WWDC this year. The collaboration aims to use ChatGPT across Apple’s ecosystem. This includes most of Apple’s product lineup, such as iPadOS, iOS, and macOS. Microsoft briefly succeeded in powering Apple’s Siri and Spotlight searches between 2013 and 2017. However, they were never able to secure the coveted Safari browser default position. After much anticipation, Microsoft’s long in pursuit iPhone search deal has finally come to an end. The decade-long pursuit of an Apple search deal has finally found satisfaction in an unexpected way. This was achieved through OpenAI’s partnership with Apple.
