Police in Bend, Oregon, have provided a timeline of the Oct. 15 shooting at Silver Rail Elementary School that left five people, including the shooter, 16-year-old Griffin J. John II, dead. In a press conference Oct. 16, Bend Police Chief Mike Krantz said that a teacher and three children, ages 5, 8 and 11, were killed in the shooting; a 7-year-old child and another teacher were being treated at hospitals for injuries. According to Krantz, the shooter jumped a fence on the school property at around 12:58 p.m. local time. While doing that, he was confronted by a bystander in a red pickup truck. After being confronted, John is said to have shot at the pickup truck, whose driver then called authorities. Krantz said that the call came in to dispatchers at around 12:59 p.m. local time. A second witness, later identified as Giamanco, witnessed the incident and parked his vehicle at the school, retrieved a handgun and followed the shooter. Do you think that poor parenting has been the cause ?
