Apple is widely expected to transition to OLED on the next major MacBook Pro refresh, borrowing from the new M4 iPad Pros. This new MacBook Pro will also have a “thinner design.” Apple had previously made the MacBook Pros a little thicker when they just transitioned to Apple Silicon, but now it sounds like Apple will be reversing course on that. Hopefully, that doesn’t cause any major compromises.Apple will be releasing a ‘total redesign’ for MacBook Pro in 2026. Apple has traditionally taken a four year design cycle with MacBook Pro, but it’s looking like the M5 refresh will just be another chip upgrade and we’ll have to wait another year to see a complete overhaul.
