Russia has been rolling out its own satellite internet in the style of Starlink after Elon Musk’s US network blocked its services for the aggressor in the war. Ukraine has now found that Moscow’s attempt to replace Starlink has been going faster than expected, the deputy head of Ukraine’s GUR military intelligence service said. According to Vadym Skibitskyi, Russia currently has 16 satellites in its Rassvet system, which means Moscow has “begun launching it much faster than originally planned”.While the replacement system can currently operate only when one of the satellites passes over Ukraine, the system will operate like Starlink once Russia deploys a full satellite constellation.
