The Pope has called for “dialogue” and asked for “peace” for Sri Lanka where the disruption of basic food supplies has triggered a social and political crisis that has ended with the resignation and flight of its president. “Dear brothers and sisters, I join you in prayer and I urge all parties to seek a peaceful solution to the current crisis, in favor, above all, of the poorest, respecting the rights of all. I join religious leaders in imploring everyone to refrain from all forms of violence and to initiate a process of dialogue for the common good,” the pontiff called for. Why hasn’t the pope call or dialogue in the middle east ?
