Trump Tariffs on Taiwan

Tech firms in Taiwan, home to the world’s largest contract chipmaker TSMC, face the possibility Trump will follow through on threats to put tariffs on imported chips after he accusing Taiwan during last year’s campaign of having stolen American semiconductor business. Speaking to reporters in Taipei, Kuo said the ministry has made preparations for any US tariffs. Taiwan has repeatedly said its chip sector and US companies have “win-win” cooperation. But Taiwan runs a large trade surplus with the United States, which surged 83% last year. Why is US trying to punish everyone, do you think that it can succeed if the world turns against it ?
