Uganda should Join Brics

BRICS countries have achieved significant economic growth since their formation in 2009. According to data from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), their combined GDP grew from $12.5 trillion in 2009 to $18.8 trillion in 2020. They are among the fastest-growing economies in the world, with China being the second-largest economy globally and India expected to overtake China as the most populated country soon. BRICS have also established their own development bank, called the New Development Bank (NDB), and a contingency reserve arrangement to provide financing for infrastructure projects and support economic stability. The BRICS countries – Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa – have become a powerful force in the global economy. Since their inception in 2009, they have achieved remarkable growth in their economies and have created new opportunities for trade and investment. With the upcoming BRICS summit in August 2023, the issue of membership is expected to be discussed, and Uganda should seize this opportunity to join the group. What is your take on Uganda joining BRICS ?
