Video Gamers at Risk of damaging their hearing

Gamers are at risk of damaging their hearing due to potentially unsafe sound levels, the new review suggests that gamers play for long periods of time with the volume turned up, beyond safe limits and this could contribute to irreversible hearing loss or tinnitus, a constant ringing in the ears. There is need to have more public health efforts to raise awareness of the issues for gamers, in the same way that has been done for live music and headphones. Normally Adults should only listen to 85dB for four hours a week, and 90dB for one hour and 15 minutes a week, according to the WHO guidance. For children, the thresholds are even lower.
