Meta-owned WhatsApp is reportedly rolling out a new feature ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026, will begin on June 11 and continue till July 19 across the United States, Canada and Mexico. The instant messaging platform is releasing a new ‘Football Central 2026’ hub that will bring live football updates, news and match coverage into one place. The new feature is being added inside the Updates tab and is created to help users follow their favourite teams, explore football-related channels and get real-time updates during the tournament.Apart from football updates, WhatsApp is also working on improving channel discovery and visibility.
