WhatsApp tests new security alert for unofficial web clients

WhatsApp keeps bringing new security features to make sure its users are safe and their chats are secure. Now, the Meta-owned instant messaging platform is working on a new feature that will warn users when they connect their accounts to unofficial WhatsApp Web Clients. As of now, the feature is available with the latest WhatsApp beta for Android and is expected to appear under the Linked Devices section. As per WABetaInfo, the warning was spotted in WhatsApp Beta for Android version 2.26.35.1. It may also appear when the platform detects that a user is attempting to link their account through an unofficial or third-party website client. The alert will reportedly be visible in the Linked Devices section where the users can view and manage devices connected to their WhatsApp account. Users may be asked to switch to the official WhatsApp Web Client to keep their accounts safe. The warning can also be dismissed, but it will keep appearing until the users move to the official platform. How safe is WhatsApp against its users ?
